Volunteer and career members responded to a small fire in a crawl space of a residence in the 100 Block of Delsea Drive this morning. Chief 701 arrived with a smoke condition issuing from the home. Engine Company 733 arrived stretched an 1-3/4” water line and began investigating with Quint 51. Crews located a small fire in the crawl space in the rear of the home. Engine Company 811 arrived, prepared to secure a water supply and stood by in the event a second line was needed. Crews checked the dwelling thoroughly to ensure no extension due to the balloon type construction. No extension was found, and the fire was placed under control within 15 minutes.
