Westville Borough Fire Company Awarded Grant for Firehouse Technology Upgrades
Feb. 8, 2024 — The Westville Borough Fire Department yesterday formally accepted a grant in the amount of $15,000 from Energy Transfer, which aided in the purchase of equipment to enhance the organizations technology at the firehouse.
Energy Transfer is one of the largest and most diversified energy logistics companies in the country, with pipeline infrastructure in New Jersey to aide in the storage and transportation of hydrocarbons that make everyday life possible.
“With increased costs for equipment, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep our firehouse up-to-date and ensure the safety of our members and of the community, said Westville Fire Company Chief, Eric Farley. “We are extremely grateful to Energy Transfer for supporting us with this grant and for being a great community partner.”
The grant was used to purchase much needed new technology for the firehouse which will aide in the organizations ability to keep the greater Westville Borough community safe.
“Whether through grants, trainings or other support, we are always honored to partner with first responder organizations in the communities where we operate – and that includes Westville Borough,” said Joe McGinn, Vice President, Public Affairs & Government Relations at Energy Transfer. “We are happy to see the department better-equipped to respond to emergencies, and we look forward to a continued partnership for years to come.”
The Energy Transfer First Responder Fund provides grants to help further the primary mission of first responder organizations, including local fire departments; emergency medical services; county emergency management agencies; county, regional and local police departments; and other eligible agencies. Grants are determined based on a competitive application and review process, and written applications are accepted on a rolling basis for the following cycle.
