Mission Statement

The mission of the Westville Fire District is to provide a professional level of community fire protection, emergency medical and rescue services to the citizens and property owners within the Borough of Westville, in order to prevent or minimize the loss of life, pain and suffering and property damage as a result of fire or other type of emergency.

The Fire District’s mission will be accomplished by the effective use of it’s volunteer, career, and physical resources, in cooperation with other public agencies, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment, innovative techniques, and available technology to provide a high level of cost efficient, quality service.

In 1987, the Borough of Westville was served by two distinct fire companies: the Union Fire Company and the Independent Fire Company. However, a decline in volunteer numbers and budget constraints led to discussions about merging the two. With unanimous agreement from both companies, the Westville Fire Department was officially established in October 1987, and the newly designated Station 7-3 began operations.

Two years later in 1989, the Westville Fire District was established due to the increased cost of maintaining the equipment and insurance. With this support, the Westville Fire Department has proudly served the community to the highest standard possible.

“Volunteering is much more than fighting fires, it is an opportunity to make an impact on so many people.”

– Firefighter Nicholas Stewart
